Yonkers Arts Weekend Event, 5/3, 1-4pm, at the Beczak Environmental Education Center: Free Clay Workshop, all ages welcome! #YAW

Join Yonkers Peace Pottery Studio in making the components for hanging ceramic totems! Once fired, the community-made totems will be donated to the Beczak Environmental Education Center and local Yonkers community gardens. ALL AGES are encouraged to participate in this FUN, FREE activity!

A totem is a natural object, life a leaf or rock, or an animate being, as an animal or bird, or even a natural phenomenon, like wind or fire, assumed as the emblem of a clan, family, or group. Although the word is of Ojibwa origin, cultures throughout time and across the globe have similarly represented and mythologized their families and origins.

Yonkers Peace Pottery Studio is located at 379 McLean Avenue. We offer pottery-making classes, parties and workshops for adults and children. Online we are parked at www.yonkerspottery.com.
