Who We Are:
Yonkers Peace Pottery Studio is owned and managed by Cori Morenberg, a local resident and avid and long-time potter who loves sharing her clay passion with others while fostering and being part of a supportive and dynamic creative community.
Her personal clay website is www.corimorenberg.com.
Why Yonkers Peace Pottery? What does "Peace" have to do with anything?
Cori believes in the idea that "Happy hands make happy hearts," something she heard or read once. She continually experiences clay softening her and knows that keeping ones hands busy, making useful, beautiful objects, keeps her out of trouble. Like all of nature, clay has much to teach us:
“Markings in dry clay disappear
Only when the clay is soft again.
Scars upon the self disappear
Only when one becomes soft within.”
